Josh pulled this off with a few machining \"tricks\" the first one was a wider diameter on the grip portion and a rounded, tapered tip. When the \u003cstrong\u003eCOMPAKT.002\u003c\/strong\u003e is set next to the \u003cstrong\u003ebasik.003\u003c\/strong\u003e the resemblance is uncanny. That doesn't mean this is a carbon copy of a \u003cstrong\u003ebasik, \u003c\/strong\u003eit has a personality all its own. THe upper body features a relief starting at the midline, but we needed some symmetry and the upper qaurter of the pen has the same larger diameter as the grip. The look ends up being similar enough to the \u003cstrong\u003ebasik\u003c\/strong\u003e but unique enough to give the pen some character. The finish on the grip is a micro-ring finish we've used on previous grip areas, just noticeable enough to add some texture but not too much to cause irritation. The tumbled finish looks incredible on this pen, giving it the workhorse looks and feel. Though outfitted with the Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 refill, it will also accept Parker refills from a variety of companies including the \u003cspan\u003eFisher Space Pen\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003e®\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan\u003e refill. \u003c\/span\u003eVirtually failure-free and requiring minimal maintenance, the \u003cstrong\u003eCOMPAKT.002\u003c\/strong\u003e rollerball pen is a true everyday carry pen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: red;\"\u003eDid you lose a button, piston, or spring?
