The existence of Karas Kustoms as a machine shop is built on a foundation of custom machining for the automotive industry. It's in our blood, and we often take design cues based on automotive design language from the past. We've also featured racing livery colors on our pens going back a decade or more. We had the option of adding some custom bright gold pens to the basiks this month, and we jumped at it. If you're familiar with gold & black in racing, you know that it has a storied legacy with some of the greats driving cars in this colorway. The one-race Lotus 56B Emerson Fittipaldi drove at Monza in 1971, the debut Wolf WR1 at the 1977 Argentine Grand Prix that ended up taking the victory lap, and the Lotus E20 driven by Kimi Räikkönen in 2012 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that is still talked about as a masterclass in driving. This Limited Release is specially priced as a bundle and a transition release from the Quarterly Subscriptions to smaller, more focused Quarterly and Monthly Limited Releases.

Did you lose a button, piston, or spring?
